Near Sawrey

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

A very misty morning but as usual with those conditions at this time of the year it means a good day and that's exactly what we have, wall to wall sunshine and not to hot.

Esthwaite Water is down there somewhere!!

Monday, August 30, 2010

We had a great time last night at a hog roast, it was in Peter and Moira's new house in Wray and it was a big success.
Today on a rare bank holiday off we headed to Cartmel races, we had a brilliant afternoon all be it without picking many winners

Another lovely sunny day,  but a bank holiday looming so fingers crossed it lasts.
I took these pictures with my telephone, who needs a camera these days?

We had some guests in the other day with a very unusual surname, then another couple booked in with the same name, it turned out they were both researching their family tree and although not related they had corresponded in the past, what a small world!!!

A sunny Sunday morning in Sawrey.

These are a few Buckle Yeat garden shots.

Well its been a better day today, although not as good as the forecasters said, it looks like the sardines will be under the grill and not on the BBQ, Thats a fact not a Eric Cantona type musing.

This a first attempt at a new feature which should be a great addition to the blog, it does need a bit of work but so far it looks good.

I had an email the other day from someone who asked me to advertise the workshop detailed below.

SELF-HEALING WORKSHOP
QIGONG

Become your own healer

Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a 4000 year old set of therapeutic exercises from China with roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Practice of Qigong wil gradually clear all meridians (energy lines) in your body, thereby increasing the flow og energy. Doing a session of Qigong is a bit like giving yourself an acapuncture treatment, without the needles. When energy (chi) flows freely, you are well. Simple as that. This vital life force is at the core of our well-being, and big strong muscles are no good if your internal organs are in a mess. Qiogong will train both inner and outer body and will improve all aspects of your physical and mental being. We'll be doing a particular form which is easy to do and learn, so you'll be able to start using some of these exercises at home right away. This means you can start taking charge of your own health instead of always having to rely on other people.

PREVENTION REALLY IS BETTER THAN CURE!

DATE: Sunday 19 September
TIME: 12-3PM
VENUE: Braithwaite Hall, Far Sawrey
FEE: £25

It turned into a nice sunny evening and we had a quick walk up to the tarns before supper.

The farmers were all busy trying to take advantage of the brief dry spell.

We had an interesting letter at the weekend, it was from a publisher of the Farm Holiday Guides, last year we took up the offer to place and advert in a publication called Bed & Breakfast Stops in Britain, we got a great deal so took up the offer, this year they want to use the picture in our advert as the cover shot and also give us a free!!!! yes free advert and a credit on the inside cover. Not bad for a snapshot we took in 2006.

The picture in question.
